Site doesn't recognize new default template

I recently downloaded and installed the Chromatophore template. However, changing the default template from TerranTribune to Chromatophore or even JA_Purity doesn't change anything. When I view the source, everything is still pointing to the TerranTribune directories on all pages.
I don't have any menus set to different templates or anything like that.
Any idea why this is happening?

Apparently that was the problem! I had to manually delete the cookie several different times before it finally worked. Now I can change templates back and forth without problem. Not sure what hung it up but that was it!
I'm still curious where the default template value is stored in Joomla. I can't find it in the database or any configuration file. Any ideas?

Regarding to the where the template setting is save, it's in params.ini file inside your template folder
