I am trying to change the vortex logo for my own. I have prepared my logo using fireworks and have file ready to upload.
My FTP program is ready (filezilla) and I have located the correct folder in the templates folder of the vortex theme (all this is not new to me, I have done it before with 'free' templates).
A couple more seconds and the site will be mine...
Every time I try and upload the file (and I have tried different FTP programs, changing the file name and size, using the cpanel file upload control - but all with no joy).
The confusing bit is this is not general to my server - I have several websites and boards, all of which I can upload to (including the file I am trying to upload).
So, can anyone tell me what is happening? I am guessing that there is a writable/unwritable permission somewhere in one of the template files. Please, please shed some light on this and make me a happy bunny again. ;D
I expect Apache has ownership, some hosts are funny like this (my own host I use for my personal site is the same) - I highly recommend installing the JoomlXplorer component and uploading via that - you should have no problems then.
Try this:
1.) download the entire rt_vortex folder from your server to your pc (using filezilla)
2.) use filezilla to rename the rt_vortex folder on your server to rt_vortexOLD or something like that (right-click and rename)
3.) upload the rt_vortex folder back to your server.
now if all goes well.. and your server is configured the way most are.. the above should not be a problem.. and more importantly, you should now have ownership permissions to rt_vortex.
4.) upload your logo in the usual manner.. overwrite existing logo.
