    A little bit frustrated...

Posted 15 years 3 months ago
    • Hello RocketTheme folks.

I have a minor issue with the a template which I can't solve. However, getting help on the forums has proven to be even more challenging. Despite several attempts to get some help through posting and later proving that the problem was in fact a bug, I finally sent a PM to Andy Miller. I know this was wrong and I apologized in the message but it seemed to be the only thing left to try besides giving up and being sorry I paid money for this. Unfortunately, even that got no response.

Anyone have any ideas on what I can try next besides giving up?

The problem is just that the main menu rollovers don't function correctly beyond three levels deep. I set up a fresh copy of the Affinity Rocket launcher with a test menu to eliminate the possibility that it was anything else. From the image below, you can clearly see what is going on. I'd be happy to send anyone who responds a link to the test site where this capture was taken.

    • I would recommend to always send the link to the test site.. saves some steps. Need to see the actual site either way to help identify problems. So, how about that link? Can't promise a solution, but I promise I will look at it!

    • Thank you.

I think the problem is with the code or something in the Affinity template. This site is a fresh install of the Affinity Rocket Launcher package. The only thing I did was update the Affinity template to the latest version and changed the mainmenu so that it would have enough sub menu levels to see the problem.

    • Actually i have done some more digging just incase and have found it to be a bug with the older template. I have opened a ticket in our bug tracker and we will begin working on it.

      Cheers

    • Thank you. I was having a hard time getting the RokNavMenu to load on the Rocket Launcher version but I did make sure it was updated on my live site and it did not fix the issue. I would appreciate it if you could let me know when it is fixed.

    • Not a problem. we will be aiming to have it resolved for the next release of the template.

Once its out there will be a note in the change log :)

      Cheers

    • I saw that the Affinity template had been updated but no fix for this issue. I now don't think it is the template but rather the menu code. I did a similar test with the Refraction template and the deeper level sub menu rollovers don't work there either.

    • Ack it looks like we rolled out the update without this change put into the code. ill see what i can find out for you Deinan as its still outstanding in our tracker.
