I sure hope someone can point me in the right direction.
After seven months of working on it, I launched my new Joomla 1.5 web site several days ago using a wonderful RocketTheme Template. It's replacing the CMS vB Dynamics (made for integration with vBulletin forum software). My home page used to be located at
www.talkabouttennis.com/forum/home_portal.php
. Now it's located at
www.talkabouttennis.com/tennis-news/index.php
(my joomla home page).
While looking at my Google Analytics data I saw that hundreds of page views were direct links directed to... 'tennis-news/home_portal.php'. My new directory but old home page name!
I've created a page there temporarily that redirects to the proper home page to keep visitors from receiving a 404 error. But I don't have a clue where this is linked from and why it's receiving so many page views.
Is there a chance that I have a module, component, or plugin that's creating this? Has anyone every seen this type of behavior before?
I don't use Google Analytics but I do use
www.statcounter.com
statcounter will tell you what the referring url is. Will Google Analytics tell you what url referred the visitor to that address?

Google Analytics doesn't offer that information as far as I can tell. Statcounter looks excellent, though. Thanks for that.
I finally moved my content to a completely different domain. This problem wasn't the main reason for the move, but it did help me to make the decision to move.
