Click to patch (joomla & SMF) link missing from joomlahacks install

Posted 18 years 1 month ago
    • Hi Guys

I thought i would get a quick response if i posted on these forums as well as joomlahacks as its an urgent fix as my site is down at the moment >:( I also noticed that RocketTheme also uses the joomlahacks bridge.

This is probably a really easy fix, however I am new to Joomla and Joomlahacks and I have searched the forums, but cant find any informaation to resolve my problem.

I currently have the following installed:-
      Joomla 1.0.12
      SMF 1.1.2 forums
      JSMF bridge 2.0.2
      OpenSEF latest version (currently disbaled)

However after uploading the Joomlahacks component I am not able to follow the manual as it says on page 10 I need to "click to patch" for the joomla source files and also SMF source files, however the click to patch link is missing and not visible.
I have made sure that the files needed index.php and sub.php are both set to chmod 777

could someone please assist, many thanks

    • i'm not sure as i don't use as you but try removing (not just disabling) openSEF to see if that makes any difference

    • You have to click save then go back to the install link in your backend - the option to patch should appear.

      I had a similar problem

      Hi James

      Thanks for the reply.
The website is Next Level Gaming and is available at www.nextlevelgaming.co.uk

I was thinking about setting up CB, but I think it maybe beyond my knowledge to set it up, since I cant work out how to get the bridge working.

I have setup OpenSEF , however its currently disabled as mention in my initial post

    • CB is really easy to setup! Im sure if you come up with any problems if you decide to install it - i can help ;D

I have not tried the bridge with anything else, other than CB - so i highly recommend trying it! :)

      ---Update---

It appears that there is a conflict between your registration forms - when on the home page, it wants me to register in SMF (which shows an error page) whereas on the forum itself, it wants to register me with the Joomla! register component.

May want to try changing some settings

Like you said CB was an easy installation, however I have that many logins and settings I dont have a clue which login to use. I would imagine it would be the CB login, however is this going to log my visitors into the SMF forums as well?

The site is very messy at the moment, howver I am looking into another RockeTheme template which maybe more better at layout than the stomtrooper theme
