rt_login error (semi-solved)

    • I just did a quick experiment. It looks like it IS the rt_login that's kicking the error. :-(

Andy, have you seen any other errors like this one?

I guess I'll just use the stock joomla login module and put something else up in that corner.

Oh well. Not a huge deal.

The Community Builder can be placed into that position - just requires you changing the parameters in the Module in the J! backend (obviously need CB installed

    • Cool! My plan was to install CB over the weekend and get that up and running for that group. I hope that problem won't continue.

    • When you install it, set the configuration for the CB login module to be Horizontal & Compact.

This will make everything fit in nicely...but if you find a way to make it more centralised in that position, id love to know

    • So after all of this, I went through and I compared the mod_login module and the mod_rt_login module.

The rt_login module looked like it was missing a line in it, so I added the line, uploaded it, cleared out cookies and tried it. It worked.

If you get this error, add this code:
      <input type="hidden" name="force_session" value="1" />
along with the other hidden inputs at the end of the module.

      Worked for me.

Thanks for posting what happened, and a fix!

    • I changed the file as John suggested. Now, I don't hit the snag on Firefox, but I don't logon either. I just cycle through as if nothing happened. I can logon with IE7. I've gone to John's site and I can logon with both, Firefox and IE7, no problem. Any hints??

    • Interesting....

I found the problem also goes away with the Community Builder Login.... just had the issue with the rt__login.

Odd that it's not logging you in... All I did was add that one hidden field.

    • What login are you using on your Austin Tennis Club site? This didn't seem to be happening until the most recent Microsoft and Firefox patches. Both this past week.

    • At this moment, I am now using the Community Builder login. I have just installed CB for my users today, so that probably took care of it.

I was getting the error when I used the mod_rt_login. And this had actually been happening for a while. I just told that user that got the error to hang on and I'd get to it. I just now got to it. :-)
