Forum Question

    • Alright, I'm currently working on a site that uses PHPBB as their standard forum. This won't do anymore. There have been a lot of problems with PHPBB there lately, and I'm looking to either convert to a Joomla forum or to Invision Power Board (which I have used before).

My question is this: is there a bridge between Joomla and IPB that I can install? Or is there a converter so that I can move the PHPBB sql over to the Joomla forum?

In the first case, there is one available for PHPBB, but I have been unable to find one for IPB.

In the second case, IPB has a converter for bringing PHPBB's sql over, but I'm unsure if Joomla has something similar.

    • The system used here is SMF - www.simplemachines.org/

On their site, they have Joomla - Smf bridges and all the converters need. I personally converted my PHPBB to SMF and it did it smoothly

If you were to go that route, id recommend going for the JoomlaHacks bridge that is used here

    • For a full-featured forum I suggest SMF.
For a quick and easy basic forum, I suggest JoomlaBoard.

      Cheers!
