Important administrative links for hacking.
Posted 15 years 1 month ago
HI all,
I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction in regards to administrative links.
Most of you are probably familiar with these 3 links
www.mysite.com/administrator
www.mysite.com/cpanel
www.mysite.com/whm
As these are your standard setup links, by default they are easily assumed.
I guess my question is, how do I alter how these tools are accessed? For instance;
I'd like
www.mysite.com/administrator
to be
www.mysite.com/_admin-cred
or my
www.myste.com/cpanel
to be
www.mysite.com/cntrl-srv
Wouldn't this make it harder to get hacked, spammed etc?
thx for any tips!

I started using jSecure awhile back to hide the /administrator link; you set a password and is added to the URL as such:
mysite.com/administrator/?password
Any URL pointing toward the administrator screen that doesn't include the ?password is redirected...so they never see the admin screen.
