    Joomla or not Joomla?

Posted 15 years 3 weeks ago
    • Sorry for my English

      Joomla or not Joomla?

A specific question about tools (CCK) to create article in joomla
According to my acknowledge, what made those tools differently with Joomla tools is the way they decorate the article more than the function they provide, in exchange they create more works

What is the future of internet, my vision is the website has to get more interactive from netters
Therefore, website's function has to be more important than website's decoration in purpose

Will I use K2 for my website's creating tool?
The answer is probably not, when K2 tries to drive joomla, with supported of a big community, into different way

      How about you?

    • Never heard of CCK until this post....

As far as form over function I agree, what your site 'can do' is more important than how it looks, although everyone likes a nice looking site. :D

      K2?

      hi erwin,

k2 has had many updates after affinity was released, which caused us to have to release a lot of updates for this template. sometimes the guys at joomlaworks would change the k2 core itself which did not make the updates for the template styling any easier.

i am not sure what the future will bring, but for now we do not specifically include k2 styling in our templates.

      kat :)

Same thing holds true for other components, VirtueMart, JomSocial, etc.

Sure they are popular but they are totally separate from the RT club and what we have to offer in terms of service and support.

While we try to support you with your efforts in building a RT based site, we cannot guarantee compatibility with ever extension that is available on the JED (4714 at this point), especially if the developers are constantly upgrading them of not being strict when writing them in compliance with the Joomla core.

Reason: their product is not mature enough
Why we have to create contents based on their product?
