Is it possible to remove the frontpage button from the menu?

I posted this in the Vortex section, but even with a couple people joining in, I can't seem to find a work-around for this. Also, I am now under the impression that this is NOT template specific, so I hope it's okay to post the question here as well.
Basically I would like to keep the "home" page ( front page at
www.mydomain.com
and also available by clicking on the company logo in the header), but i would like to remove it from the menu itself. As of now I've not been able to keep the frontpage the default without it being given a button. If anyone could give me a suggestion as to how this might be done I would greatly appreciate it.

You know what I did? I changed the name "home" in my menu and replaced it with an "About Us". I was sick of seeing home all over the place. That was long ago...and now I must eat some chicken.
The first menu item in your menu will always be the first page your visitor sees.

As Yves and I both stated in the other thread you made in the vortex section, the best way that we know of to accomplish this is to change the name of the menu that you have assigned to those buttons. Change it to something other than the main menu. Say you make a menu called top menu, and you put all of the menu items in there that you want up in the buttons. Then in your index, php file you change the menu assigned to the buttons form main menu to top menu. That easy:)
