you'll need to download a forum software like SMF, phpBB2, vbulletin, or etc. and install it.

then find the appropriate bridge if you want to use it with joomla.

    • M, easiest way without all the technicalities is to download and install TSMF Joomlaboard. Its very very easy to get going and you should have no problems. The other bridged/wrapped solutions can be quite complicated to get going properly.

Joomlaboard is easy but it is ugly! to be frank.... Its a good thing to start out with if you are not used to forum systems but if you want to maintain the calibre of your site... SMF is the way! ;D

It depends on the extent of how much you want your forum to accomplish. I always prefer to have 2 softwares, perfectly designed for their purpose integrated then a little addon to 1 software...thats how i roll ;D

I don't agree with that, I think it's a great product for anyone who wants a nice clean, simple message board. It may not have the frills of the other like SMF, but it shouldn't be discounted so quickly.

    • I use SMF. The bridge they provide for it works great.
