The importance of a text menu (non-java)

    • Hello,

After reading up on SEO and such, I noticed that many people are saying use a text based menu for spiders to pick up, as they will no pick up java menus. Is this true with rockettheme? I usually have a couple of links in the footer and use this extension:

      extensions.joomla.org/extensions/structu...c2VydmljZSI7fQ%3D%3D

Is there any need for this stuff with rocket theme's templates?

    • Hi Skittles,

The extension you linked to is a site map and yes you should have one for every site. Personally I prefer xmap.

For the first question, spiders read rockettheme menus just fine. All you need to do is look at the source code. If you can see it there, so can the spiders. :P

They will not pick up flash menus.

      Hope that helps,

      Rich
