I used Firefrog because of the suckerfish-navigation and the black design. a good start to what was in my mind.
Had a lot of Problems with Navigation on IE6 and IE7. The css-redirection to template_ie.css had to be corrected from 6 to 7 (in index.php). The template is still causing problems with tables in the content (as seen in joomlaboard). somehow the tables are out of any control... ... destroying the design.
The website has to be improved... some more css in some modules and components needed. What I find interesting is the wrappers for the mediawiki (OpenWiki had a lot of bugs and problems with german and not so much functionality as MediaWiki) and a wrapper for PHPList-registration (there seems to be problems and restrictions with all newsletter-components for joomla).
Found a very cool solution for link- and video-collection with a tab and slider solution. ("
Mehr zum Klimawandel
"). A huge amount of content on very little space. I never saw such a solution anywhere else, buts ist difficult to edit and IE6 and 7 are very delicate with code-issues...
Im still in search for programmers who could create a bridge from CB to MediaWiki and from PHPList to CB-Profiles. This Site is meant to be open source for climate-crisis projects. With some improvements in Design and programming it could be a perfect community-site.
Components, Modules, Mambots and external Systems (in Wrapper) I used:
Community Builder
Eventlist
Missus
Joomalboard
AjaxChat from FijiWebDesign
Fading Newsticker, Frontpage Slider, AllVideo Plugin, Tabs&Slides from Joomlaworks.gr
FacileForms
several CB-Plugins: Whos online, User Galleries, Eventlist- and Joomlaboard-Plugins
Contacts xtd realoaded
jomcomment
an external Flash-mp3-Player
Wrappers to a mediawiki (with Plugins Tasks and Accesscontrol), phplist and platial.com-map

I like that sleek design and your color choices are excellent. I was thrilled to find the English-language document down at the bottom -- it sounds like a fantastic project.
Thanks! Very kind words, hmm, I enjoy that
Its a lot of work because every component has to be adjusted to the design. Some components as cb, missus or jommlaboard have even some design-informations mixed with the php-code... terrible.
