First Stab at a Social Networking Site - Vortex

Dunno if the subject matter is cool here or not, but been working on a gay/lesbian youth support social networking site for the past month or two based on vortex. The url is:

We still have a LONG way to go, it's amazing how many little intricacies you gotta factor in. Not to mention the site is super bloated at the moment, am hoping to do an optimization pass this week. If you guys know of any good optimizations besides the obvious reducing images and stuff, that'd be much appreciated. I'm sure there are probably a few javascript conflicts lurking about as well.

Also helpful hints to make it feel less like the stock Vortex
I think I might try moving the site over to use YouYous mobius mod in a few weeks because that has a ton of potential, but for now Vortex has been great...

Great site there, your usage of space is fantastic.
My only suggestions are, change the icons on Total users to something for template suitable and the logo looks slightly pixelated on the boundaries.
