Nice customization, but the site took ages to load.
You should really optimize it. Since the website performance checker even timed out after a while.

You should have the load under 4-5sec. I have succeeded to have load under 1sec on joomla systems with rockettheme templates. So you should really consider optimize it or otherwise you will loose visitors because of the long load time.

I dont seem to have bad loading times
We have tried to get the image sizes down as much as possible before we lost too much quality, will look at this again in the morning.

Okay, i did a few performance tests.
But the thing can also be that the server is based in Australia, and maybe you aswell.
Since the checkers i used where based in the US and EU. So that can be the difference aswell.

In the link above you see it takes a good amount to load before the actual loading.
To increase some performance is to make big files on external servers. Such as javascript files.
Also minimize the amount of menus. My menu where in the end 800 items, with that amount of a Fusionmenu took about 7 secs to load.
That wasn't good. So i made submenus apart from the header menu. Try to minimize the header menu so much as you can. The looking of the website is perfect, just need some optimization.
But if you don't aim on international, and just Australia, then it's no worries.

Both me and the server are from Australia, our main market is Australia but I obviously like to keep International people following.

I have worked on making some minor changes to the V8SFG website - we have kept using Hybrid but its amazing what a few tweaks can do, went for a lighter feel especially at the top of the site and our members loving it!
Also just enabled the SookaChat for JomSocial - seems to be going ok at the moment.
