We are a small guild and we just wanted a way for everyone to know which characters were played by which people. But Joomla is so cool, and there are so many cool addons, well, lets just say things got out of hand.

UserExtended and UserListXTD are used for signup and simple viewing of everyone's characters
CommBuilder allows for profiles and tracking advertisements
AdsManager - Ads for equipment that people want to give/sell
Events and Attend events allow members to make reservations for groups
Letterman - Emails from the site to all guild members
Vemod - sends emails to guild everytime a new message is posted (if they choose to subscribe)
WOWRoster - pulls data from an add-on to WOW and displays that data in the site. The day after I got this setup, Blizzard updated WOW and it broke the Character Profiler add-on that makes the whole thing work. So we wait...
Guild members went nuts over the site design. Ive gotten three more people hooked on Joomla and hopefully a few people will signup for Rockettheme accounts as well.
Thanks for a fantastic template. My next priority is to redesign the template to be a fluid width. Its too small for our user list and WOW Roster. But that's a LOT of work.
