MotoEscapism - BentoMatic Template (or is that ColorBox)

      Extensions:
      • Gallery2 (Matrix Theme Embedded)
      • Gallery2 Bridge
      • MultiThumb with Slimbox activated
      • RokLatest
      • Monoslideshow
      • Several custom HTML modules
      • Joomap
      • OpenSEF

      Custom Development:
      • Extensive integration of design elements from BentoBox Dark Style 2 into Colormatic Style 14. Nearly all typographical elements have been reproduced as well as addition of the "-hilite" module suffixes.
      • Replaced default Mootools .js supplied from RocketTheme with custom built .js file from the Mootools site, allowing use of control panel and RokLatest if I wanted (I don't want right now though). Final template only relies on Mootools v1.1 for all Ajax'y features.
      • Deep customization of "Matrix" Gallery2 theme to allow the embedding to match the site.
      • Added "photo" span class to alerts. (example on first page of any journal article)
      • Added "open" and "close" gif files to most recent version of RokLatest

      Other Features:
      • Extensive customization of Logo and Header
      • Graphically integrated top menu
      • Internet Explorer Compliant

Any specific areas of my site that I'd like feedback on, if any:
      • General look and feel. I've been staring at this thing all weekend in a rush to convert it over from BentoBox to Colormatic before Monday. I've been staring at it so long now eye fatigue is setting in.
      • Safari compliance. The last go around (with BentoBox and my integration hacks) looked fine in IE and FF but took a dive in Safari with collapsing links all over the place. I would need feedback from Mac users, because I don't have one
      • Customization Breaks. Let me know if there are any nasty customization / integration failures between the three main items: Colormatic as the framework template, BentoBox as the styling and Gallery2 as the primary component. Do they all play nicely?

      Additional Comments:
      • I'm tired. I'm going to bed.

    • Doesn't look like you did much to the bento template :p

J/K...the site looks great Daniel. You really went all out.

    • Great job with your site Daniel. I love the header area. You might want to throw in your affiliate link inside the footer rocket div.

      Cheers,

      Mike

What, pray tell, is an "affiliate link"? Are you referring to the RTheme Link at the bottom?

    • Ahh yes... that's what I suspected you were talking about. I was a little confused since the default install just points the rocket to the main rt.com page. I'm planning on building out a "how this site was built" section as soon as I can focus on content rather than site structure.

Has anyone checked the site out in Safari yet?

Try browsershots.org for front page images of your site on different platforms, operating systems and browsers...

    • Yeah I tried that, but the problem reported with Safari was during the "mouseOver" event on the menu, links, etc. Browsershots can't help with that... but it does let me know how nice it looks if one were to print it out and hang it on the wall ;D
