    • Hi,

      I'm making an online artwork shop using the shocktrooper template that I'm customizing to match my digital identity. Its on the works so bear with me if some pages looks far from final :) .

      URL : shop.kallias.com

      Components : Virutemart, Random Image

      Specific areas of my site that I'd like feedback on :

      1) A little annoying display bug on this page (using Firefox only, not reproduceable with IE):

      shop.kallias.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=26

      On the left corner, the following caracter appear and disturb the layout (lower the menu) :
      Also, this can be observed with all browsers (FF, IE and Safari) on the main page, on top of the blue : Welcome to Kallias e-Shop website.

      If anyone knows what this is and how I can get rid of I would be really greatful.

      2) Is there a component / module that would allow me to use both images and Flash content in the Random Image part of my site, ideally I would love to add Flash to present some of my products, it would add life to the site I think.

      3) Any comments and critics are welcome, just bear in mind I'm in the very beginning of this shop.

      Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any advice you can give me,
      All the best,
      Chris

      PS : This was the third time I must retype all, so it might have been a little more telegraphic, (problem with Multiplicity that simply jump back and make me lose my topic when changing screen, sweet :( ), hope not too much though, and thank you for your comprehension.

    • You can remove those characters in the index.php file right at the top. Not sure how they got there..
      <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" " www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd ">
      <html xmlns=" www.w3.org/1999/xhtml ">
      <head>

      I am not a flash user, so i have no advice on how to integrate. You should be able to enter your flash code into a new module with the editor turned off and then publish the module.

      Lookin' good so far.

    • Hello Mike,

      Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately I've checked the index.php (within shocktrooper template right ?) and no sign of the chain... I believe the webserver adds it somewhere, for whatever reason I'm not sure. I remember having the same issue in April when I first deployed the template, and asked my hoster to look into it and they did something and the characters went... the new hosting company as been unable to help so far, even though they are ten time more pro and competent than the last one (always down).

      I am wondering if it has anything to do with some regional settings on the server, maybe the type of ASCII used or something like this (from the top of my head).

      If you or anyone else have an idea to maybe give a pointer to find this problem, please let me know,
      Thanks again for your help,
      All the best,

      Chris
