    Photography Site Ionosphere Joomla 2.5

    • As I have just taken up photography I recently developed this website: www.itoni-photography.com/

I have also used EasyBlog and EasyDiscuss as they work well together and decided to keep it simple

It's still in it's early stage as I now need to continually add blogs! I'm looking forward to this in WordPress! :D

    • Looking good.

I'd suggest replacing the menu icons with color ones so they stand out.
    • Thank you,
      Jason

    • Site looks good. I'd suggest that you take advantage of the RokGallery instead of taking people off-site to your Flickr page. Also I'd suggest a little more work on the words in the logo. Try a more unique font.

    • Hi Rae

I recall you quite a while back providing valued feedback to another of my sites

I agree as I also dislike the logo and need to work on it. As I am intending to upload hundreds (thousands) of photos thought Flickr more suited. How about a Gallery using Rockettheme but the core images linked to Flickr. As a visitor how would you personally feel about that

Thanks again for taking the time to review my site

      Regards

      Toni

    • Hi Toni,

Doing a quick search in the Joomla extension library I found a few things that might work.
      extensions.joomla.org/search?q=flickr

I haven't used any of these so I can't offer anything else than the reference, but take a look. Something might click for you.

    • Hi Rae

Thanks for the link. I had done research also and found the same plugins. I'm always wary about installing 3rd party components outside of Rockettheme but will look more closely. I think perhaps I should use the gallery as you had suggested and add a Flickr More Images link!

I managed to change the logo which I agree does look much better. Only problem now is finding out hot to lower the top menu lol

    • The logo is so much nicer now. 8)

Well, the trick with the extension library is to read the extension details, reviews and look at the demo. If a lot of people are praising and it looks like the developer is actively developing in J 2.5 then you can feel lot more comfortable installing it. I'd suggest installing on a test site first to make sure things go as you would expect them to.

The RokGallery is really a nice extension. It lets you setup many different galleries that can be displayed in different ways. The secret is in the gallery tag. Definitely worth a try.

      Rae
