    Band site using Kirigami Template

Posted 12 years 3 months ago
    • I was just waiting for the right project to come along to use the lovely Kirigami template.

      www.nickelcreek.com

Additional components include the JWPlayer for videos, JCE editor, AkeebaBackup....that's about it.

    • Site looks good although you should change the following

It really doesn't look good having three different forms like that. Maybe you can style them somehow to match the rest of the site

    • I know, that's the only thing that's bugging me, too....but I'm using the widgets supplied to me by each separate person's manager....I guess they each are using a different mailing list service. I need to remember to ask their managers if they have access to non-flash versions of those widgets. To do list, here I come!

    • Maybe you can create some custom forms and in action method use some code from those mailing lists? You will have to check with those mailing list api if something like this is possible

    • Thanks for the idea, Igor! I was able to style two of them, but it turns out Reverbnation doesn't have public APIs. Still, the visual flow over the page is better with that change.

    • I think that you should really change this form provider to something else

    •

Thank you for showing me that!

I agree completely, but it's not my call; that musician's management team set up Reverbnation for his mailing list several years ago. I advised Mailchimp, but at the time they were convinced Reverbnation was the way to go. I think it has been substandard in more ways than one.

Fortunately their page (that comes through the iframe) is no longer glitching this morning. I'll keep an eye on it; if it happens again, I'll send them a screencap and see if I can raise their level of concern.
