      Sorry I know this is not the place but im still trying to differentiate the footer from the rest of the website with a sliver / light grey.

      I can get the footer to change colour but I want it going right across the page but of course only goes as far as the edges of the container.

      anybody got any ideas?

      My opinion, I would leave the footer as is. I think a full width footer would not look right.
