Martial Arts - RT - Replicant (I'm stuck)

Hey all,
I really need some input...or maybe even just encouragement. I've sold a client on Replicant- mostly because I like it, but they are really wanting something different and this is- I think the best for them.
I've hit a brick wall of sorts- came up with a simple modification of the template but I think it's just plain boring- could be I've been looking at it too much.
I am open to anything- even if it's just someone letting me know I'm moving in the right direction...

- With the background you have it is hardly boring, but it is really hard to tell what you really have with all the demo content still there. The extreme team page with each member was a really cool touch.

- Looking at the site, it seems to me that the background is a little too prominent. . . I might edit the background graphic, and fade the graphic towards the background color (perhaps 50%???) a bit, so that it is not quite so prominent (this will fight less with foreground elements).

You asked for it - You got it...
Suggestion --
Change the grey see through to see through white. It should make it more striking...and you will not have to lose the background as is, but then you will have to change the text to dark. Plus, the white might not have to be as clear as the grey is.
Loose the IMac feel of the template...and play with the corners on the top....sort of a dragon on each corner, okay maybe not a dragon but something symbolic.
Lose the orange too, but keep the same template...maybe, switch to red. Talking orange Hyper links and titles
Emphasize the logo on the left of the headers of each module or menu.
Logo needs some work...image behind it maybe? Not saying I don't like it just needs a little more umph.
and please, please change the Favicon now...
Hope that helps and yes I have more Ideas but I figure that should take an hour to do...maybe two...
Over all that should be very striking and subtle...so when you add pictures and articles they will be highlighted, but not overtaken by the background.
Of course again this is one of those things you have to play with first then see how it looks...hope it works out I will check it out later to see what you do do as people are throwing ideas out left and right. - Last Edit: 17 years 7 months ago by .

Hi
wasn't me who made it. It is made for Expression Engine. But I am pretty sure you can achieve a similar layout with Joomla. When you talked about your site, I was thinking immediatly at that site I discovered a while ago, just wanted to share my discovery with you, maybe you can let it inspire you.
