    • All,

I've been working on the Transcend church website for a few years now. I'm nearing a site that I'm happy with. However, I'd LOVE input from the community!

How can I improve, flow, navigation, look/feel, overall design, and SEO/other areas of the site?

one specific question - the image I have in the header of our site (I need an image up-top like that) but how can I make that look better - photoshop, CSS etc? It just looks like an image tossed up real quick and doesn't fit the site.

Thanks for your ideas, comments, and assistance - community!

Check out the site at www.transcendchurch.org

      Grace and peace,

      John

    • One thing that would benefit your church is a blog. It's a great way to get repeated traffic, people involved and some good content to post on your church's facebook page.

For the header (or Showcase) to which you are referring, check out some of Rockettheme's newest extensions like RokGallery to make a cool slideshow.

Make a church facebook and integrate it with your site for more dynamic content.

What theme are you using right now?

    • I've been working for the last couple of years on a way to quickly deploy low cost church websites to help churches that can't afford a professional website. The combination I've come up with is to create a Joomla site with a Rocktheme template and run a backup and replicate to a new site on Cloudaccess.net hosting. In the process of researching I stumbled upon some pretty good ideas/best practices for a church website, which you might find helpful by browsing through my "demo" church site - - which is built on the Graffito template.

      Hope that helps!

    • Great template - I'm always interested to see how churches are using templates. I'd love to see how you'd present the staff page, with images, etc. Also, how contacts and scheduling may work for things like counseling.

    • Here's an example of a staff page I did for another company using the same Graffito template. I think this one worked out extremely well - infosystems.biz/about-us/executives.html

For scheduling you'd probably need to use a separate Joomla Extension or use Google Calendar.
