    • This site isn't finished. But am pretty proud of where it is visually.

      www.iconwebdesigns.net

      Modules used:Rokslim, roklogin

Customizations:Randomized body background images, modified position background images.

      Input desired:
      Content suggestions welcome
Any additional visual elements that you think would add to it.

      Thanks

    • With widescreen resolution your site is not showing correctly. Pay attention to the background!

    • As a professional graphic/web designer, the most constructive criticism I can give is to reconsider your logo and color scheme. I wouldn't want the letters "CON" standing out in any of my marketing materials. Not exactly a message you want to advertise consciously or subconsciously. As for the colors, you'd benefit from learning a little (possibly through Google) about using color effectively in designs. I wouldn't want my site looking like a circus compared to my client's sites. Good luck! ;)

As your first post, my opinion is that it sounds a little bit arrogant and aggressive. It has not a lot to do with "constructive criticism".

    • The input I have received so far is Golden. I rely heavily on Rocktheme templates because they make me look good (How's that for arrogant :-)

That said, I really do desire to create unique, visually beautiful sites for my clients. It's comments like that Don's that do sting a bit, but I certainly don't hear it as arrogant. If someone has been doing design, web or otherwise, for years. I would be stupid not to listen and consider.

      Thanks to both of you.

      Keep bringing it on!!!!

      ;)

    • MediaWorks - Just because I may not have the time to post or (when I do) craft my words so gently, doesn't mean I'm not right and trying to help. Criticism is a big part of our business and stating things clearly will usually save everyone time.

As for the site, it's an interesting idea changing backgrounds like that, but I would personally stick to the white one (if you're insistent on using the other four colors. The yellow and green backgrounds appear to clash with the color scheme. I'd also make the green stripe the same color as the green "O" if you stick with this look. Sorry Dean for any wording that may seem "arrogant" or "aggressive". Just trying to cut to the chase.

    • Don,

I really do appreciate your thoughts. I didn't take them as arrogant or insensitive.

If I put something out there for critique I have to be willing to take it.

By the way I would love to see some samples of your work.

      Dean

    • Dean,

Glad to hear you know how to handle criticism. I'll send you a PM this weekend.

      Take Care,
      Don
