    • Hi,

So I was using Lumiere but had decided the page load times were too slow. Stratos shaved around two seconds from pagespeed and Yslow. The site also seems less confusing, but that's just my opinion. I didn't load a lot of graphic rich extensions on the front page while I kept page loads in mind. Also, I cut down on Java scripts because things were getting all jumbly fumbly with Cloudflare and its Java accelerators.

You can view the site here: http://www.religiousverse.com

ReligiousVerse is a Christian poetry and reference site. Some pretty famous poets reside in the database, along with some well known scholars in the forums.

Thank you and looking forward to any critiques!

    • I don't mean to hijack your thread in any way friend, but as a new Christian myself in the past 12 months, I've not only been awakened to the gospel - with a sledgehammer no less, but also to seeing just how many new people are being called right now. Seems just when we think times are changing for the worst - a revival happens. Well done on your site, and for your courage in sharing the message in these difficult times. I hope to follow your path myself one day soon.

I'm not Christian but i agree - It's a very interesting video. I just wonder how you can physically prove that "God" exist...

Creating a religion is pretty easy IMHO.

    • Hi Prim

I by accident left lumy on the front page, now stratos is working throughout the site. The movie was just a test clip - an inside joke in amongst the fold.

But I'd like a second to comment on your comment, time permitting:

"There are two camps that people fall into when detecting the non physical. First, are atheist who say that science cannot have anything to say about the existence of God. However, recently, the "new atheist" think that they can prove the non existence of God through science. Although science cannot directly detect God, it can examine His creation. Consider the non-physical concept of love. We all accept that love exists, although it cannot be directly measured by science. However, if we observe those who love each other, we can indirectly measure the affect of love on these individuals' actions. For example, we might notice that they spend a lot of time together, they are constantly helping each other in various ways, and they come to each other's defense when the other is threatened in some way. Although we cannot measure love directly, we can measure the indirect effects of love. Likewise, although we cannot measure God directly, we can examine the universe to detect God's imprint on the physical world." - God and Science

The best evidence for God's design can be seen in the nature of the universe and how it came to be. The process of discovery continues, since one of the fundamental properties of the universe, dark energy (or the cosmological constant), was discovered late in the last century. New studies continue to add to our knowledge about the universe and its extremely unlikely makeup.

This has in large explained natural revelation, but then there are fuller explanations, such as special revelation - which comes from the prophets and only the Son of God. Too much to type, but the incarnation is a mystery to some, but more so teaches us about ourselves rather than God - How we as finite beings cannot fully perceive or comprehend God's infinite wisdom.

But I agree, Prim, it is easy to make a religion out of anything, while dependent on the definition of said religion - one can accept in blind faith too much all to willingly. Lets just look at the blind faith in a religion called the "new atheism": The belief that there was nothing and nothing happened to the nothing and then nothing magically exploded for no reason, creating everything and then a bunch of everything magically rearranged itself for no reason what-so-ever into self-replicating bits which then turned into dinosaurs-- Makes perfect sense? And they laugh at Christianity!

True faith is an action based on belief sustained by confidence in God. Everyone has faith to a degree, from the time they are about to sit in the computer chair and read this, they show confidence in their belief that the chair will sustain them. Some even place their faith in millions of years, or even billions, because when given the magical ingredient of time, everything random becomes possible. And yet, from one kind to another cannot be given as evidence to support Darwinian Evolution, but that doesn't stop them from having blind faith in something that cannot be observed or replicated in the name of science.

Anyways, I know that this is not the place to really touch upon such subjects, but I couldn't resist an opportunity to speak about the Gospel on secular grounds. This is one of the reasons www.religiousverse.com was created, a place for others to share or ask questions, or just engage in topics with like minded people.

      Enjoy!

    • As I said Shimei, I don't want to step on your thread in any way, so I've not responded until you have before me.

I would just like to say these things…

This path is not a choice.

Any person who says they made a choice - is not Christian.

If you asked me anything along these lines over the past 30 years (I'm 44) - I would have responded very negatively - and possibly abusively to any such ideas. The path to God is not a choice, it is a truth you are given as a gift. And once you are given that gift, you now know truth and you have the choice to follow, or to know the truth and to still walk away for the pleasures of the world.

I still hate "religions" more than any man, and belong to no church.

I like your site. I paid no attention to the graphics, but I did see your attention to the facts that nothing in this modern world is anything new. That everything which is practiced now under the guise of science and new age thought and tolerance - even by those who attest that they follow no religion at all - is actually the following of the false religions spoken of in the Bible, most notably the Babylonian religions, and its these same religions that are taught to our children in schools, and to us in the media as being science and modernity, but are in fact 3 - 5,000 year old religions following false gods.

I highly respect your path that you have seen and spoken of these truths.

No, it is not easy to start a religion.

Romanism and Islamism were spread by massive armies.

Judaism is maintained by seed-line allegiances, regardless of ethnicity.

Buddhism, Shinto, Hinduism and many others are all cultural.

The new religions and cults of the past 200 years were all financed, created and are still controlled by exactly the same single organisation (name withheld), and ALL deny Christ as the Son of God… and all are designed to splinter and destroy Christianity… interesting, isn't it.

Evolution was invented as a false "replacement religion" for Christians, to give Christian nations an alternative belief system so as to deceive them away from Christianity with a false belief system to otherwise explain the creation of the universe - evolution was also invented and financed into existence by exactly the same people (name withheld) who created the cults.

Many new people have invented new religions in their books in the past 20 years, and many have made millions $$$$ in doing so - and most have profited from the endorsements of Oprah - but not a single new religion has sprouted.

Yet true Christianity has never had an army, never forced anything onto anyone, only ever preached the love of man to each other, and never raised a sword in combat or in opposition to any government, or in anger to any other man… yet has been hunted down and with total brutality and for total destruction for the past 2,000 years, and is happening again right now, and is once again picking up in its ferocity to destroy Christians.

I agree, this is not the forum for such topics, so I will leave it there.

But just had to respond, as did the original poster of this thread - to a single comment.

Posted with love to all men.

PS… I also wonder how I can wander around Montana, Colorado and Utah and trip over so many dinosaur bones from a hundred million years ago, so many that I can pick up the rib bone of any dino in any paddock and use it as a cricket bat almost anywhere I go - and I can also go to any museum in the world and find millions of dinosaur bones, and the bones of other millions of other extinct animals…

But I cannot go anywhere in the world and find a single monkey-man bone from a mere 100,000 years ago - or a million years ago, despite us having billions of predecessors so close to us in time, and I cannot find any proof of any type of man past about 6,000 years ago in what we now call the middle east… and I see scientists studying dinosaur marrow who are still finding red flesh inside bones supposed to be 200 million years old!

(No that doesn't mean the earth is 6,000 years old - the earth was made void (empty) and was replenished with man, animals and plants in Genesis - meaning it existed long before in a different age - didn't know that did you :) - neither did I )

And why dinosaurs are listed in the Bible as living amongst man and created at the same time as man in the oldest book of the Bible - Job 41 - sea dinosaurs - and Job 40:15 for land dinosaurs.

I also wonder why I can go to a local museum to find fossilised British coins from 200 years ago - embedded in rock - found in the sea off the coast of Australia?? And why there are 500 year old pictures of European sailing ships painted in the middle of the Australian desert, and why there are a two thousand year old pictures and stories of white men in South America, and why the Aztecs surrendered so easily to an inferior Spanish army because of their belief that white men were to come to their lands to rule.... This picture is so big!!!!!!!

I also wonder as I watch David Attenborough say that a little squirrel developed skin flap wings so as to glide away from predators - just because it wanted to. Yet the single wish of all of mankind to escape their predators or to catch their own prey since the dawn of time has also been wings - yet we still have NONE, no matter how hard we wish. And we still have ZERO PROOF of any type of monkey-man before us. Nothing. Zada, Zip. Nilch. Nil. INGENTING Ja, Jag är verkligen dansk min Svenska bror :cheesy:

And we still have not a single bone or proof of any animal EVER morphing into any other animal through evolution in the history of the world.

      NOTHING.

      INTERESTING...
