    • www.radiumhosting.com/ My little web hosting company that started from nothing and took money out of my pocket for a year or so.

      I created the company in 2009 after selling a popular forum, which got me kicked out of every host for over-utilizing their resources. I must have moved the forum 10 times before giving in and getting a dedicated server. It was a phpBB forum and I kept everything up to date, but my users were relentless. After I focused on SEO and optimized the site, things got crazy. It became #1 on Google for its keywords and the offers started rolling in.

      I had built a few websites for people and provided hosting, so when I sold the forum I didn’t want to bail on friends and family.

      The dedicated server costs were much more than I was being paid for hosting and I wanted to keep the awesome hardware, so I dug in and created Radium Hosting. There was a huge learning curve, but it paid off.

      I'm still terrible at marketing and I’m trying to get better. I have a small advertising budget to work with now, so if anyone has tips in this area, I’d love to hear them.

      Additional Extensions (Components, Modules, Plug ins):
      I like to keep things lean and mean, so I try to install the minimum amount of extensions.

      One thing that i think is missing though is information about the data-centers' location and your peering partners.
