Our large not-for-profit website,
http://www.asafeworldforwomen.org
, was started 3 years ago with no experience of working with Joomla.
We started building it on J1.5 using the old Solar Sentinel Rocket theme (with an enormous amount of support and help from the RT team!)
Earlier this year we completely revamped the site - upgrading it to J2.5 and changing to the Kirigami Template.
The site uses 2 duplicate versions of the Kirigami template and 4 additional template overrides.
This allows us to create and expand the site with different sections each with their own style.
We were very touched and pleased to receive two awards at a ceremony at the UN in Geneva, in July, for our work with small grassroots women's groups. This was entirely due to being able to work with Joomla, Rocket Theme and several components and module systems we use.
The next phase of our work involves building an ethical trading shop and rapidly expanding our work with partners throughout the world. All the time exploring how we can push Joomla to the limits!
We have over time explored different template systems but with complete honesty - we love Rocket Theme for the level of customer service.
