- PS...very nice styling of jom comment; I recently purchased that and MyBlog and was mildly happy with one of the bundled templates, but after seeing the ultra-clean look of your comments, I am going to roll up my sleeves and do some tweaking. Looks great, Dave.

So yeah I styled Jom Comment and I'm pleased with the result! Glad you guys approve too!
Terp, you can make Jom Comment look quite different from most sites by simply going with new icons tweaking the colour scheme in the CSS - it's basically all I've done!
For the URLs we're using sh404sef... This really is the best extension for URLs in our experience. If you did go for sh404sef on your Joomla 1.0.1x site then you'll be happy to know there is also a sh404sef beta for Joomla 1.5!
