I've meant to post this for quite some time, but was too embarrassed by my host, (dreamhost) to continue. I've switched to MediaLayer, (much, much, better!), and so figured I'd post it in here.
It's basically a community portal for foreign language speakers in Tianjin, China, one of the largest cities nobody has ever heard of. We do events listings, forums, and classifieds.
The site is running the youyou version of Mobius, and it's served me fairly well thus far. The site is still a bit cluttered, but I want as many parts to be accessible for the front page. Other components I'm using:
CB 1.1
Rsgallery
Sobi2
Ads Manager
JCalPro
YANC for newsletter.
Ajax Shoutbox
Jhacks version of the SMF bridge
A bunch of mods to SMF
UddeIM
My biggest problem right now is probably related to my tabbed modules, running on jootabs. I'd like it to be a fixed height, but it seems like they can't do that. They mention a way to do that here:
Nathan - looks good. Tough getting a lot of info where it will grab people.
The one bothersome aspect for me was that the page content rotates faster than you can reasonably expect to even find a topic to click. And because the content slide has different lengths depending on which slide is prominent for the 3-4 seconds per slide, you can't read the content below because it is always jumping up and down based on the slider above - make sense?
Thread Killer - able to stifle discussion in a single reply
That's why I was hoping maybe someone could help me with that link that was posted above, because it's supposed to detail away to standardize the height of the module. I can't seem to make it work, though, and for some reason I can't post in that forum anymore, (they seem to have restricted it to paying subscribers only).
One other little nagging problem I have is with the width and font switchers. In FF and IE7 they're fine, but in IE6 they get pushed over to the side. I rarely use IE6, but it would still be nice if it could display properly. Any idea of how to work around that?
