  • Pie and Bovril - Now running Versatility III

    • It must be a testament to the many great templates that RT has given us over the past 12 months that I have changed my homepage design so often ;D

      I've run Colormatic, then moved recently very fleetingly to Media Mogul, and now I've reverted back to a personal favourite of mine in Versatility_III.

      I'm really very happy with the result but would appreciate any pointers from the design whizzers out there ;)

      How did you customize the front page? How did you customize the width of the right modules, and have a banner on the far right? I am interested in doing the same thing with my VIII site...
      Also, the content rotator mods... what are they?

      The homepage is actually a bit of a cheat, I'm just loading modules in a stack in user 3 and user 4 with no content at all listed as frontpage.

      The content rotators are Frontpageslideshow - joomlaworks.gr (for the top left) and then 2j news slide ( www.2joomla.net ) for the others.

      The right column is just sized through the $side_width parameter in the template index file.

      The banner advert is simply published in the "banner" template position which is supported through Versatility III out of the box.
