First Parish Congregational Church - updates site to Chromatophore
Posted 17 years 4 weeks ago
Switched from Colormatic, to Synapse, to, finally Chromatophore. The color options with this template were just to powerful for a graphics-challenged individual like myself to ignore.
We are using: Joomla 1.013
!JoomlaComment,
SH404SEF,
JLLeblancs podcast
Todays Verse,
Mini-frontpage.
Looking at Menalto gallery and Ninja shadowbox (wow!) and looking to add video for the entire service in the future. We use a 3rd party calendar which I hate, but I can't get our office to budge and use a different one.
I'd appreciate any comments on the layout, speed, or anything else. I'm paticularly proud of the work in the mp3's, as we had a lot of people that wanted the sermons different ways, so there was a lot of customization work there.
Still, love to see a drupal layout. The content options are so limiting, and everything I read says that is not the case in drupal.

I've been following your progress on your website for a few months now. It looks good. I'm just starting out. And trying to tackle the sermon audios. Can you tell me why you chose JLLeblancs podcast over sermon keeper?

Thanks for the comments.
I went back and forth on the sermon speaker vs the podcast suite. In the end, I think the determining factor was the tutorial for the podcast suite, which layed everything out. Not even sure if that's true or not - I was just glad the thing worked, so I stuck with it.
I seem to recall sermon speaker as not being as flexible as I wanted, but that's just a thought in my head right now - I can't give you any examples.
As for IE...is there anything else to say? I will probably turn the warning off at some point. A couple of people in our parish thought it meant they couldn't use the website at all, and I don't want that!
