    • Ok, so I've had this site up for about 2 years, and I've switched through several RT templates on it, and I think I'm very content with where it's at today. I just want some feedback on how it looks, and what you guys would change if it were up to you.

I recently switched over to a VPS, and my hosting company uses PHP5, so they had to make a bunch of changes to the code (they moved it for me), and now whenever I install any components, it completely kills the entire site, which is horrible. Not to mention, they left all of my files permissions at 777, so needless to say, I'm vulnerable. If you guys know how to fix the issues, it would be appreciated if you'd share the knowledge with me.

Aside from all of that, what do you think?

    • Hi Nick,

The site looks professional and it has Blog feel to it at the same time being a community site. I got on problem and that was active users. The pop window had some layout issues. It looked out of place.

And the issue about permission set to 777 , you should either use the webproviders fileapplication or insattll the joomlacomponent extplorer. And set the files and folders manually.

You can find a lot of info how to set and best practice on permissions on www. joomla.org
