    StopTheAttacks - TerranTribune

    • Website URL: www.stoptheattacks.org

      Additional Extensions: MyBlog, JomComment

Custom Development: None (unless changing the color of the MyBlog dates count) :)

Well, I tried to be like many of you and do a '24-hour' site starting from scratch, but I ran out of time...so not much content yet.

I'm still adding articles and blogs, working on a YouTube gallery to show political ads (like the infamous "Willie Horton" and "Daisy"); I need to clean up all the text and strengthen the writing (setting up MyBlog and fixing some issues was the timesink, so no time spent writing); I am finishing up a slick petitioning system I'm making with Fabrik, a report system for people to report attacks; I have a lot to do still, to be sure.

I do have 3 validation errors that are budding me, 2 from the Google search I used to replace the core search. The table error is bugging me, so if any wc3 gurus have any ideas... :)

I have an IE error on the home page (the 'inject' error), which I think is due to so few articles...popped up once I gutted all the errors from the launcher and hasn't gone away yet...think once I add a few more, it should be gone.

My logo sucks, but given my lack of graphic ability and creastivity, I threw it together in a few minutes, so welcome ideas for that, too...and any others you have to offer.

    • For less than 24hr :o , and very nice idea, and AWESOME domain. You could make the site more broad on content beyond political views. Just a thought, because it might get slow after the election. Then again politics always has gossip ;D
There seems to be an empty module that shows up after clicking an article. It is located right under the comments.

      Agree, wholeheartedly!

IN fact, you took an idea I was mulling around, did more & better with it too. Nice work!

(drats - going back to drawing board for ANOTHER topic)

    • I love this site. It has some serious potential for Palin supporters to jump on board. I can't wait to see what it develops into after a few more days. You may want to integrate something like factcheck.org in there as well. I use fact check information on my site right now because of all of the crap people post. I love it!

    • Thanks...sort of backed into it when I saw that "Palin" was the #1 search term out there, so I was trying some domain names with no luck, moments after her announcement even! Man, those guys are quick...all were taking and somehow I made the leap from support sarrah palin dot com to this domain name.

I have no direction, conceiving it only a few days ago, so I'll take a step back and decide what to do with it...clueless. ;)

...but shouldn't be a shortage of content to get caught up during this election cycle...getting quite nasty out there.

    • What I like about it is that, unlike most political sites, it has potential to run for a long time, not just this political race (what's left of it). It's also quite bi-partisan in nature, so you wont get the same type of stigma that comes along with most online political blogs. I can see a pretty good future with this one. I'll link to you from my site. I get a bunch of political readers, and have a bunch of crazy bloggers that write on my site, so I'm sure that they would appreciate another place to gather info and read about the opinions of others.

    • Hey nice job Terp!

Have you looked at joomclan.com/index.php?option=com_conten...tegory&id=1&Itemid=3 as something to help with the content population? Looks to me like the *perfect* complement to Tribune's uber cool RokMiniNews.
