      Hey Franck, I did a bit of research and the common English names for these beautiful birds are "Queen of Bavaria Conures" and "Golden Conures". In America, it is Federal law that requires you to obtain a permit to even have as pets. The rules are more strict if you want to breed them because they are endangered. I've looked for them in the U.S. and have only found a few. Going price for 1 of these is about $3,000.00 USD. You were very lucky to have them!

      Hi mike!
      I think those parrots only exist in the Brasilian Amazonia Florest. Actually I live in French Guyana and this parrots don't exist here. Ararajuba is the name in Tupi Language.
      Yes Pablo and Fernando (the name of my 2 Golden Conures) was 2 fantastics friends and my family will never forget them. In Brazil those bird are protected and few times before I lived Brazil I decided to let them with a professional breeder in the Recife City (they are in reproduction process now).
      If you think they are beautiful in a picture, you can imagine the beauty of those bird when you can see them with your eyes. They are bigger than a Green Parrot of Amazonia but smaller than a Macao. I saw all the parrots of the South America but the Golden Conures is the most beautiful. A real miracle of the nature!

      I currently have 14 parrots and I am leaving in an hour to meet some people to pick up 2 more! I am also getting another blue and gold macaw baby that was hatched a week ago. That one will be my pet only and I will train it. I can't wait. ;)

      Cheers to bird lovers! ;)

    • Wow - I never thought I'd see so many parrot people here - we could start a Rockettheme Parrot Club ;) . I am down now to about 80 birds - with budgies, 40 cockatiels, African Ringnecks, Indian Ringnecks, 7 conures, about 20 lovebirds, 1 Congo African Grey and an Umbrella cockatoo. Most of my birds are rescues - some physically and most emotionally damaged. Most have been through multiple homes. Some I took in to keep them from being euthanized. I just took in 4 more cockatiels at the end of August. I seem to always have room for them since they are in their own room in a flock.

      Mike - I really love the way your site is coming along. I can't wait to see photos of your B&G baby. I always wanted one - but there was no room at the inn after awhile. Maybe one day there will be one in need of a home that will come my way. Or maybe one day I can buy one of your Harlequin babies ;)

      Joseph - people refer to me as "the bird lady" - but I draw the line at the crazy bird lady ;) I didn't intend to have so many - but when word gets out you have birds - watch out. ;)

      Franck - Golden Conures are so amazing and beautiful. You are so fortunate to have been able to have them in your life!

    • Unbelievable Sunday luck. I got my pair of Green Cheek Conures today. Very nice. Then I get to work this evening and a friend of mine asked me to take his Umbrella Cockatoo off his hands. Wow! I've seen this bird "Maggie" and she is beautiful. Only 3 years old and friendly. She comes with a huge macaw cage and a bunch of toys plus a portable carrier. "How much?", I asked....

      "Free" he said...then I hugged him. ::)

      Sweeeeeet!! He lives down the road from me and I'll have her tomorrow.

      I know this is RocketTheme, but it's a thread about my site and I couldn't contain myself and I felt like sharing. ;D

      Mike
