Beautiful site! Could you please add Maine to the list of sites for illegal quakers? I used to be a member of quaker parrot society rescue (QPSRAPP) and the goal was to help get quakers out of Maine before the state "did their job."

I loved your list of articles - especially including one on second hand birds. However, I would put "Teaching your Parrot to Talk Part I" also above Part II and III. Not sure everyone knows to click on it the way it is set up - just my experience : . I look forward to other articles. Do you and your wife plan to write some? I found photo essays a huge hit on my own (non-joomla) site. Also - videos of your birds would be a hit. Web cams of nurseries are huge hits in the online world of pet birds.
I love your logo and the parrot graphic you used. A lot! Just a thought on the banner of parrot photos - only include those you will be selling. I was a breeder for many years (until last year) - I only included the species for sale. So if you are not going to sell B&G's just Harlequins - a Harlequin baby when you have them. Same for the Suns. But I imagine they have to go to nest and hatch before you have the photos
You may want to add links to QPS, quakerville and some of the other big name quaker sites. Also, there is a site on hybrids (I would have look that up) that has a link to my site (for reasons I don't know) and Bird Talk recently discussed naturally occurring hybrids (which I know is true) - just because hybridization is controversial. I found my links pages were very helpful with SEO along with some other stuff I do on non-joomla bird site. And I would set up all links so they open to a new window or tab - so people don't get lost (JMHO).
Totally love your site - the colors totally work for parrots. I plan to bookmark your site and share it with other parrot friends as I can. I'll try to remember to add it to my avian links pages when I finally update my huge non-joomla bird site.

Hey great site! You've made a good job of modifying the template!
Some advice from me would be -
I agree with Ellen about adding the Part I link, it'll make it clearer to users.
Also the way you've done your gallery using the wrapper on Gallery2 doesn't quite seem to fit in with the rest of the site. Maybe a different Gallery2 template will do it. You should also set the wrapper to be "auto" height so you don't get the vertical scroll bar.
If you wanted to go down the flash gallery path maybe you could try using SimpleViewer in a wrapper? It's easy to make the flash files, there's a plugin for Picassa/iPhoto and php scripts. It's done on this site and looks amazing:

Hey Michael, I love parrots too and I have a great consideration for the breeders because it's essencial to fight against animal traffic.

Thank you for your thoughts Franck. We are relatively new breeders, but we have much love for all of our birds. They fascinate me. My wife is the one that actually takes care of the birds themselves. I get to run the business side..and play with Joomla! all day! ;D

I implemented Simpleviewer gallery. Much better. I will have to work on the layout though, but I got it to work quite easily. I fixed the menu items and I started my weblinks.
Oh yeah, Ellen, I added Maine to my list of states that ban quakers.

Here's a link to a hybrid disclaimer with photos of other macaw hybrids - Catalinas, Capris, Catalinas and Shamrocks - no Harlequins. This was posted today on a huge parrot message board I used to own.
The site is not as nice as yours of course - but lots of photos of their hybrids
The other site I mentioned earlier - i finally found and it has some articles about hybridization - but more geared to lovebirds.

The only reason I mention this I had been around the online bird community far too long and I got taken to task when I took in a female wild-caught aratinga red fronted Wagler's conure (rare) rescue and asked how it it would get along with my rescue male Cherry-headed conure. I did not want to breed them - I don't breed rescues - but people get crazy over hybrids needlessly. Same deal when I took in a Fischer and Peach face lovebird rescue pair - hybrid crazy - and they were both females - LOL. But I bought the Fishcer another Fischer since I had other Peach faces.
A quote from that board might give you an idea why I bring this up: "Many go to the extreme and talk people out of adopting a hybrid as a payback to the breeder. In the end, the bird suffers. It's not the birds fault that some human decided to intermix species....Like I said, it can be a very touchy subject but also a great discussion."
Anyway - just a heads up.
If you need places to list your breeding business - let me know - I know a number of sites and ways to get your site links. Oh and I have a friend who has sent me photos of naturally occurring hybrids in Australia. If I ever update my own site - She has a special section of photos and videos on that site which I hope she will let me add those.
