    • Website URL:  syopn.com (FSBO = Homes for sale by owner)

Additional Extensions (Components, Modules, Plug ins): RockNews Rotator, Simple Image Gallery, Iframe,

Other Features:  Custom header, some edits to code.  This template really didn't need much more, and I've found the fewer additional extensions, the less likely things break when I upgrade to next version of J!

Any specific areas of my site that I'd like feedback on, if any:  Visual Impression, Easy to determine what site is about.

Additional Comments:  Thanks to RocketTheme for the service and the very quick and helpful forum responses!  And to all the folks who have helped me with my questions!

This site already has very excellent search engine placement for fsbo home addresses (one goal of the site) and people searching for fsbo in this area, which as only been up about 2 weeks (maybe 3).

I first started learning Joomla! about 1.5 yr ago and found RocketTheme shortly thereafter.  I have a moderate understanding of php, enough for some troubleshooting and understanding how to edit code.  My best skills are html/css and pretty good with seo.  I use Joomla for clients who want to update their own pages (3 clients so far) and they are very pleased.  THANKS!

    • It's very smart you have www.SellYourOwnPropertyNow.com pointed to your site also
Yes, we decided that would be quite a long url to type out, so we have it pointed to syopn.com, for those few times when people remember the company name and "try" the url, and for clever web designers who think about these things! ;D

    • I like your site a lot! I want to do something like that with FSBONetworks.com which is just collecting cyber dust.

    • Vicky - very nice site and great use of Terran Tribune..

I'm trying to use it too and having one problem I see you overcame. Somehow you are avoiding the SITE NAME to show up in the text below RokNewsRotator (around where newsflash goes).

You instead have "Flat Fee MLS Listings - The Way It Should Be Done! " information there. How did you get that in there and avoid the Site Name from showing up? I've tried the following without success:

      * Created article and made it a FrontPage Item
      * Created a custom_html module with information and assigned it to Newsflash position

Neither worked so I'm wondering how you did it.

      Thanks in advance,
      George

    • Hi. Perhaps these details will provide the answer:
      It's a content article.
In the article set up, set advanced parameter "show title" to YES. This is how I keep the site name from showing on the homepage! The article title is "Flat Fee MLS Listings - They Way It Should Be Done!".
It is published to the frontpage.
I have nothing published to the newsflash position.

Let me know if this is enough detail. Regards, Vicky

    • Thanks - I did try what you said but it didn't work. I set advanced parameter "show title" to YES on the content article but all that did was put the title on the article but the SITE NAME still displayed above it.

I'll post in the broader Terran Tribune forum for help... It probably is another simple setting somewhere else that I'm overlooking.

    • Hey George, thanks for the feedback. This one task I always forget how to do completely myself...I need to keep better notes! Now try this...
In addition to the tasks on my last post....
      1. Go to menu item manager; select the home page menu item.
      2. There, go to parameters(system) tab (on the right side).
      3. In "page title", place whatever text you do want the page title to be (title tag), if you want this to be different that whatever you have set in global configuration.
      4. For "Show Page Title", select "No". THIS IS THE IMPORTANT STEP!

I went to my site to confirm, and when I changed the home menu item "show page title" to yes, my site name/title content popped into view...so hopefully this is the missing info you need for your task.

      Regards, Vicky
