    Feedback before launch - Sporticus

Posted 18 years 2 months ago
    • Just a quick thanks for Andy for producing such an amazing theme.

I'm nearly ready to start populating my site with content and just wanted a few people's views on what they thought of the website so far?

Let me know your views and give me the honest truth :)

    • You really can't go wrong with this template. It's an awesome template.

That said, here's just a couple of things...

The "06/07 Premiership" menu link is broken. When you put in a Link - URL in the menu manager, make sure you include http:// otherwise, it will append the URL to your livesite. (The menu link is trying to open thecottagers.net/www.bbc.co.uk )

You might want to move that menu link as well. This is just my own personal opinion, but external links should be embedded in content, or on the last level of a menu tree, not on the primary menu that has submenus on it. But that's just me.

Other than that, the three modules at the top of the front page (inset, user1, user2) are not showing up uniformly on the other pages. Some of the other content pages have only user1, some have user1 and user2, others have all three. That could be intentional though, for specific content. Just something to make that that's the way you're wanting to go.

      Just my personal opinions. ;D

      Other than that, great site!

    • It is a visually attractive site. I really like the colors.

The only thing I don't really care for, which is minor, is the table on the front page.

    • Very nice!

Only think I noticed in ie7 when you click on Forum - The drop down menu goes behind the grey. Apart from that it looks great.

    • Looks great. Nice use of greys to underemphasize template and push content. I don't like the colors used for the JEvents calendar--that's my only constructive criticism. :(

Yeap, I know about the incorrect URL, still need to work on content on some of the sections before launch.

inset, user 1 and user 2 arn't set on every page for a purpose. I didn't always want certain information to be displayed and I think the insert module isn't need on anything apart from the home and news pages. :)

Glad you like the site though.

Joseph, what is it about the table that you don't like? Would it better without the lines?

Is anyone else expericening this problem?

Thanks, I'm sure I can change the events colours although this will require some CSS editing.

    • I think your site looks great, I just don't think the table did your site justice. JMHO

    • apart from the team. all is okay .. ;-)
i'm not sure if you know or you might have permission but you can't reproduce fixture list/league table without permission. i did once and within a few hours got a very strongly worded email saying unless it was down ... you know the rest
still. i like fulham. it's 6 points after all ;-)
