Hi, I just wanted some opinions on my new site
www.extremerandomness.com
. I've still got a LOT of work left to do, it's only been really up since last night (a couple nights ago I put it up but it wasn't close to done, and I've got a LOT of content left to add - my friends will be adding their stuff as well and I'm hoping to get a community going.
Hi Mark, 1st let me say that my comments are obviously based on your site not really being completed yet.......IMO the graphic needs a little work....looks a little too 4th grade to me. I love that green and blue vortex template...really pops..especially for the younger (teenage) crowd your targeting. Most other faith based sites are really drab and boring, after all, celebrate your faith! I would keep the button menu....unless you plan to use the real estate on the header for something else. Just some quick observations...hope it helps.
Thanks for your comments. I'm teaching my best friend how to use Joomla, she's told me she'll write a bunch of stuff for it - she has some great stuff but most of it (and most of what I write too) is a little too private and personal for us to be sharing. Once she knows the back end of Joomla, we're gonna start sending other kids at church to the site
Hopefully, it'll succeed.
Sadly, I dropped the button menu because I wanted the real estate for banner ads (which are now up). I know, I know. But hey, you gotta do what you gotta do to pay the hosting costs. My only worry about the Google ads is some of them have been of questionable morality... not BAD, but I don't like being associated with what they're saying or selling. I'm kinda hoping that once I get a bunch of peeps in our church on it, I'm gonna go to local businesses and see if one of them will pay my hosting costs (I know a couple business owners who might if the site gets popular) in exchange for their name being all over it. Please pray with me that it succeeds in that way.
My best friend wants me to add flames to it, but I can't figure out a tasteful way to add flames to the design
P.S. I also did this site for our church's young adults ministry -
www.kalispellexpedition.org
. Tell me what you think of it too if you have a chance.
http://www.kalispellexpedition.org looks great...I have always liked that template. Good Job!
Well, what you could do to kinda keep the flow of the header between both sites is to take the flame from http://www.kalispellexpedition.org's header and add it to
www.extremerandomness.com
and make it blend nicely into the background......
