    Band website using Akiraka Essentials

    Posted 14 years 8 months ago
    • www.kenny-amandasmith.com

      This is made using the Akiraka Essentials template....the client had the idea for using that photo as the background, and I was happy to oblige.

      The site uses the Wimpy Player for the mp3 player, RapidContact for the contact form module, Eventlist for the tour schedule, and Ignite Gallery for the photo gallery.

    • Kathy,

      Great looking site. What are you using for SEO to get the ".html" in the url for the webpages? I have the Joomla core SEO engaged on a couple websites, but nothing else right now.

      Thanks,
      Steve

    • That's also just the Joomla core SEO. One of the options it gives you in the global configuration sets those suffixes.

      Glad you like the site! Good luck with yours!

      Thanks. I guess I missed that part of the core SEO.

      Cheers.

    • Very nice site …. again!

      as always I have some annotations:

      1. You really have to work on these add to cart buttons … they look ugly (transparency …)
      2. www.kenny-amandasmith.com/photos.html

      I really would use a min height for that like
      #section2-bottom {min-height: 500px;}
      To prevent a (too) short looking page

      this should be the cross-browser-safe solution:

      #section2-bottom {
      min-height: 500px;
      height: auto !important;
      height: 500px;
      }

      but I haven't tested that on your site

      AGAIN … a very nice site … (and a little different then your other sites, good decision to not only stick to one style)

      P.S.: the html option never worked for me ... did you add something to the .htaccess?

    • Henning, thank you for the feedback as always....so helpful!!!! I made that change. I was not aware of that min-height declaration....thank you, that did a good thing! Thanks for pushing me on those buttons. I keep wishing the RT people would offer the source PNG files for the Rokquickcart extension.

      Hmmm....I didn't do anything to the .htaccess....I'm just lucky for once, I guess!!! Maybe it has to do with the hosting environment, which is Hostgator.

      Thanks again for the kind feedback and ideas for improving the site!

    • do you use mod-rewrite?
      and if so did you change "#RewriteBase /" to "RewriteBase /" in the .htaccess?

      I got it working now for me too (the .html)... that is pretty nice! :-)

    • Henning, I would like to lose the breadcrumbs on that page, too, but unfortunately with that photo program there is no other way to navigate back to the albums if you are inside one of them.

      If I do, I'm not aware of it! LOL!

      Glad you got it working.

    • hmmm wouldnt it be better to add

      #mainmodules span.pathway a.pathway {color: gray;}
      #mainmodules span.pathway {color: white;text-transform: none;}

      to make a difference to the main menu and to make the active photosection visible?
