    Call to undefined method MissionControl::close()

Posted 13 years 11 months ago
    • Hi,

I'm periodically receiving the following PHP error in my logs:
PHP Fatal error:  Call to undefined method MissionControl::close() in /path/libraries/joomla/application/application.php on line 322

I see the MissionControl class doesn't have this function, so can I just add it with an empty body to fix it?

Someone else also mentioned seeing this error in their logs: www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=42...18038&rb_v=viewtopic

    • sure that should work :) i'll try to track down what's causing that, but an empty method with nothing in the body would remove the error message.

    • Hi Andy,

Any news about this particular error? I've found the same on my PHP log.

Not too worried but still I'd love to get it perfect.

BTW, MissionControl is simply the best admin template ever. Thanks a lot!

    • I'm seeing the same error when I log in on. The error is issued but then the admin panels appear.

Not 100% certain but don't remember seeing the error pre 1.5.24

    • ah ok, next week, i'm going to put a few minor fixes in for the 1.5 release although it will not be getting the full 2.0 treatment that we did for Joomla 1.7

    • I am unable to reproduce this. Can you please try on a clean joomla install to rule out 3rd party extensions you may have installed?

    • Hi Andy, thanks for the response perhaps the following will assist.

I installed a clean version of Joomla 1.5.25 on a new domain. After the installation process there were no issues with logging in to the admin area and I set up the global configurations. At this stage there were no additional components, modules or plug-ins installed. I then decided to try your Mission Control admin template. This installed with no issues. However after logging out of the admin area I needed to log back in but now could not. Initially I received the ‘invalid token’ message. I reviewed posts on this forum and cleared the session cookies from my system. This allowed me to see the admin log-in page. However when I attempted to log in I received the error message

PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method MissionControl::close() in xxxxx/libraries/joomla/application/application.php on line 334

The same issue was presented viewing the admin login page in IE and Firefox.
I reviewed a number of suggested fixes noted in this forum but none of them cleared the issue.
I therefore deleted everything and did a new clean install. This time I did not install the Mission Control admin template and all has been working fine since.

I have been a member of the Rocket Template club for a couple of years and know the effort that goes into all your templates. I hope this information helps
