I've been using Mission Control for about a month. It's basically just an upgarde to the default joomla template with no drastic bell and whistles like adminpraise 3; which i like! The UI just seems simple. I try to use Adminpraise 3, but the text shadows, box shadows, gradient images, a weird floating tab menu.... it just seems bloated with css tricks. Theres nothing wrong with that, but I don't think it's implemented right.
Mission Control wishlist:
- some extensions (I forgot sorry) have padding issues
- I like Adminpraise 3 quickadd K2 menu.
- The top MC menu can get filled quickly. I use NoNumber ajax clean cache & preview site extension. Doesn't leave much space. I wish I can disable Editor, and/or "Viewsite". Maybe making them icons instead?
Thanks for the kind words. I've already implemented options for disabling/enabling quickeditor and viewsite in the status bar. Also, i now have an option to select the width of the MC. New default is 1080px, but you can still choose the older 960px width or an even wider 1200px.
Mission Control IS awesome, and I agree it is far better than many other Admin templates out there. However, I always like to spend the extra time to customize the admin template to match graphically the main site's template. For example I am working on a custom Grunge site for a client now and the excellent work that RT does on their themes allows such customizations so EASY!
Thanks guys for that more than anything...
When someone is impatient and says, "I haven't got all day," I always wonder, How can that be? How can you not have all day?
