    • Mission Control is AWESOME!
I've been using AdminPraise since they came out, but Mission Control is truly fantastic.

I've got it working perfectly on a

I'm moving the site to my customer's hosting account at BlueHost.com.
      I'm getting this error.
Fatal error: Call to undefined function apc_cache_info() in /home/[USER]/[DOMAIN]/libraries/joomla/cache/storage/apc.php on line 127
As per other forums on the I've triple checked the config values, /tmp path, etc.
I tried turning of FTP too, but the only thing that enables the admin screen to come up is to edit the default template settings int he database to revert to Bluestork.

Front end works fine and default Joomla admin templates works fine.
Making Mission Control default admin template = error.

    • I found this thread in Joomla forum. He changed the path to temp folder in the global configuration to fix the issue.

    • Thank you for hunting for a solution for this issue.
I found this thread and a few others while trying to resolve this issue myself.
I tried a few different configurations for the /tmp folder but nothing fixed the issue.
      The entire site works fine.
However, when I enable Mission Control it locks up the entire administrator panel with the error.

Mission Control is extremely helpful because I have customized the UI around the client's workflow. I hope we can get this resolved.

      Any other suggestions?

    • I'll share the solution as I get it sorted out:

I checked the PHP Info on both servers:

Old server has APC enabled, but DreamHost PHP Info doesn't show APC at all.
Ill request they turn it on and update this thread.
      APC Support enabled
      Version 3.1.9
      APC Debugging Disabled
      MMAP Support Enabled
      MMAP File Mask /dev/zero
      Locking type pthread mutex Locks
      Serialization Support php
      Revision $Revision: 308812 $

    • I asked Dreamhost to enable APC and got this response:
Thank you for writing in to DreamHost support.
Unfortunately it is outside the scope of our support team to do custom installations for customers, such as installing third-party functions through PHP. You will need to enable SSH for your username hosting the domain and configure APC manually:
      wiki.dreamhost.com/Enabling_Shell_Access
      wiki.dreamhost.com/APC
I apologize for any inconvenience that this causes. I recommend notifying the free DreamHost discussion boards with any further questions regarding APC configurations:
      discussion.dreamhost.com
When I checked the Dreamhost Wiki I got this before the instructions on APC
The instructions provided in this article or section are considered advanced.
You are expected to be knowledgeable in the UNIX shell.
Support for these instructions is not available from DreamHost tech support.
Server changes may cause this to break. Be prepared to troubleshoot this yourself if this happens.
We seriously aren't kidding about this.
Now I know why I have been paying through the nose for "Fanatical Support" at Rackspace for years. They do anything I ask for within a few minutes. I'm not a Unix guy. I know just enough to be dangerous so I don't want to mess with PHP. So I guess I'm stuck....and I recommend NOT using DreamHost if you want to run Mission Control.

I'm trying to load a new Joomla 1.7 site for a customer on their DreamHost account. It works perfectly on my Rackspace Server. Thumbs down for DreamHost.com

    • Hello,

Thanks for your reply and sharing your solution. Good to know that your RakcSpace server supports APC and it solves the issue. Thanks again for letting us know this. Should be useful for others.

    • It may be worthwhile for RocketTheme to enable/disable the use of APC in Mission Control if that's possible....though it seems like it is part of the Joomla 1.7 core.

I believe I'm close to posting the self-service resolution for this since DreamHost won't do it.

    • Apparently the php APC functions are used for other functions in the site.
Is it possible to run Joomla 1.7 on a server without APC enabled?
