Support editors-xtd plugins?

One thing I just ran across today was that MC doesn't support editors-xtd plugins which add to the Joomla sidebar, instead of the button area below the editor.
Is there a hack we can use or some code examples we can use to insert these plugins? The one in question is the Ninja Zemanta plugin. Excellent plugin for adding related information to blogs and articles.
