Encoding problem while in 'Template manager' menu

Posted 12 years 7 months ago
    • I use Polish translation for MissionControl and have small problem with encoding.
This problem is related to only one menu position in the backend: Template management.
I can enter any other function of the Joomla backend and have no issues with encoding however when going into 'Template manager' all diacritic characters are beeing displayed incorrect (as per attached screenshot).
Again if I move anywhere else all characters appears OK again.
Any idea how to fix this?

    • You are using Firefox and this is an encoding issue.

Usually, this will be fixed if you save the files as UTF-8 NO BOM and have no extra line terminators etc.

Please PM me FTP/Joomla logins and a link to the issue and i'll have a look :)

    • Access data is on your PM. Thanks!
Below is a link to the translation that I used. I copied last one available from the MissionControl forum and updated it with missing translations and then saved as UTF-8 NO BOM.

I presume that if this would be an issue with translation file the problem would be all over the admin menu and not only in template management.

    • I just found that this must be hosting related problem as it happens only on all websites hosted with one server. Website hosted with different provider is running fine.
One that is causing problems is running PHP ver. 5.2.17 and the good one is on PHP Version 5.3.6.
Could PHP version make such big difference?

    • VladimirZ: Are you really saving the files as UTF-8 NO BOM? This is important to Joomla.
