PDF Form, fill out and send results to database

Posted 14 years 9 months ago
    • I have recently acquired the adobe acrobat professional software. I attempted to create a pdf form and place it on my site. It didn't reallly work the way I want it - the biggest problem being where to send and store the submitted data.

Does anyone know of a way to do this with joomla and possibly to store the data in the database rather than on a computer? or atleast to have the form sent to an email address through the site email rather than through the user's email client?

Any help/suggestions regarding this would be a big help.

    • Why not use a 3rd party component that will store the info in the Joomla DB, (which can be downloaded and imported to a .cvs or Excel file) send thank you mails to the respondent, send a notification to the administrator, and automatically redirect the user back to any page you specify?

For example, RSForm and RSForm Pro do all this and more...

(BTW, I have Adobe Arcobat Pro myself, but for the above mentioned reasons, I think a form component is much better / easier.)
    • Thanks,

    • I use Fabrik now which I really like, but I'm not a good enough programmer with php to really get the custom look I/they want. Plus, I'd like to have a "pretty" format for them to receive the information in.

    • Not sure if this is of any use to you, but Adobe Acrobat has built in functionality for distributing forms and collating returned data into an excel spreadsheet.
