Help with template

I am looking for someone who is actually an expert with Joomla.
The site is darkfieldstudies.com. We used the Lunar Eclipse template, largely for the dramatic effect. A suggestion was made to change to Bento Box (dark). I joined RocketTheme and installed this. Then, I installed Technopia.
Read carefully: the site is already configured with VirtueMart, chat, forum, and heaven knows what all else. Moreover, we already have a flash header.
What I like about the Lunar Eclipse template is the drama of the left navigation links with my subject matter. What I like about Bento Box is the gallery and somewhat improved features. What I like about Technopia is the elegance, however, the colors do not work.
I am used to telling my graphic designer what to do and watching it come together. This project has not come together and while I have sought expert assistance, the assistance thus far has not resulted in an acceptable display. I am willing to pay a fair sum to get what I really want, but I need someone who will listen to what I want and why and then make it happen.
