    • Please PLease PLease give some attention to the threads about the problems everyone is having with the split menu and the pathway getting lost when you link to a component or use a link-url:( A lot of us are having a problem with this. Would be nice to at lesat get an update on whether or not anything can be done about it!:)

      Thanks,

    • Well here's some posts on the subject:

      http://www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?t=9781&rb_v=viewtopic

      http://www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?t=9935&rb_v=viewtopic

And for a site example, cleanmywater[dot]us, if you go to the Support Services info button tab, you will see submenu items come up under the button. If you click on one of them, the pathway disappears. All of the submenu items are gone and the Support Services button is no longer highlighted. I did a little test to try and solve the problem using the returns submenu tiem. If you click on that one the pathway stays, but the minute you choose one of the links on the page which is a link to a part of the component, the same problem happens, all of the menu pathways disappear.

      Thanks,
      David Henderson

    • I found a post on the joomla forums that seems to be some what similar to this problem, and it says it is caused by the way itemid's are handled or misused. I tried to understand everything that was explained there, but got a bit confused. Here is a link to that post:

      http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,152384.0.html

and in that post, another post is referenced, and the discussion in the 2nd topic seems to have solved the problem the person making the first topic had. Here is the 2nd topic that is referenced for the first one:

      http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,125365.0.html

The answer might be in there, however, as I stated at the beginning of this post...I got confused and did not completely understand everything that was discussed. If any of you that are more learned in the ways of joomla could possibly have a look at these posts and maybe lay it out for us in layman terms, I would be very appreciative:)

      Thank you,
      David Henderson

      P.S.
On the same note, if one of you that has greater knowledge in all things joomla than I happens to read these posts and comes to the conclusion that these topics I have referenced here are not related and that I am barking up the wrong tree...which is very possible...I also would be very appreciative if you would let me know:)

    • Ok, well if noone has had this specific problem, have any of you had the problems discussed about the itemid's? Did those happen to cause yourmenu to know perform the pathway correctly? I'm pulling at straws here just trying to find the right tree to start climbing in order to fix the problem:)

      Thanks,

    • After reading this post of yours I get what you are saying, is this happen with Vortex template and support component or all templates and components?

I need a component to duplicate so I could look for a solution, any suggestions.

    • Lol thanks for the effort:) However, I am not talking about the breadcrumb pathway thing. I am talking about the pathway of your menu and submenu's. Like when you click on the main menu button, and it highlights, and the submenu shows up under it. Then you chose which submenu item you want to go to and it takes you to a page. While you are on that page, there is a menu pathway showing you your menu path. The main menu item you are on is highlighted, and the submenu item you are on is highlighted or boxed or something so that you know where in the menu you are. That is the pathway I am speaking of. With my site, that disappears:(

    • Well I only noticed the problem with the vortex template and support component, but from what I've read it happens with any component that has links to other pages in it. From what I have read on these pages, people are having this problem when they use the menu item type link-url so you may be able to duplicate it that way.

When creating a menu item type link-URL you must remove the existing Itemid from the URL, have you done that?
