Mainbody content area width wacky in IE!

    • I am having a problem with the width of my main body content area in IE. I originally thought it was something to do with the vortex template, but I tried a few other templates with it and had the same problem, so I figured this is more of a general question, so I am posting it here. On my front page in the content area I have text and pictures. The pictures are aligned to the left and right, and it lays out fine in firefox. However, for some reason the 2 pictures in the first section of the page are not there when the page is viewed in internet explorer. The area where the text wraps around the images can still sort of be seen in IE, but the images are just not there. The text also lays out like the images aren't there in Internet Explorer as in the text uses up the extra space that would normally be used by the images. I am attaching a screen shot with the post showing the page viewed in both FireFox and Internet explorer. I also have noticed that on pages where a table is used and it's width is set to 100% the content area extends further to the right that it should, using up part of the space that is allocated for my right module bar. I have also attached a screen shot of this showing the page viewed in both Internet Explorer and Firefox. If anyone has any ideas of how this problem could be solved, or what the real cause of the problem is, since I am only hazarding a guess here. Thank you in advance for any advice any of you can offer here.

      Thank you,
      David Henderson

    • Ok, I was going to check and see if this problem happened with a template other than one I got from rockettheme, so I could try and narrow down the possible causes. However, the computer I am on at the moment has IE7 on it instead of IE6 and when I checked to see if the page was too wide in IE7, it wasn't. LOL so I have to wait until I get home to test that theory out. However, it did let me know that both of the problems are nonexistant on IE7, the pages that are too wide and take over the right module bar and the pictures missing on the home page are both not problems on IE7. So now it's just IE6 and maybe below. So if that helps anyone out with helping me find the problem, I hope so:)

      Thanks,

    • Ok, I finally got to a computer with IE6 on it, and got to test out trying a different template and looking at this problem. It seems that I only have this problem with RocketTheme templates. I tried one of the joomla default templates, the made for web or something, and the cart fits perfect into the area. However, whenever I try a RT template, the content area runs over the right side module bar. Here is a screen shot of the cart page on both templates. So if anyone knows what I can adjust in the template to make the page fit correctly in Internet explorer 6, please speak now or forever hold your peace:)
