[FIXED] Product Image linking to Manufacturer not Larger Img

    • Hi Guys,

I know this has nothing to do with RT but I am confounded and have been unable to figure this out on my own and I need your help. I am working on some of the last major hurdles in getting our site going.

I have searched VM and RT forums to no avail and now I am resorting to my last defense and asking in the forums.

My product images are not pointing to the larger image but instead link to the manufacturers website. I'd rather that not happen.

I have looked everywhere and the closest I came was /com_virtuemart/virtuemart.cfg.php

But the setting I need is not in there and what is there is not correcting the problem.

Anyone have a lead for me? I have been searching and reading and have not found what I am describing. Sorry for such a newb question.

So why did you not download the images and use these for your site?
You have probably created the link to the image on the manufacturers site, or not?
imho that is wasting some good bandwidth too :cheesy:

    • I had the same problem.
By not placing the link in your product-page (backend), I mean not placing it in the link-box when you input the productdescription etc, the image will link to it's bigger size.

    • I'm sorry if I was not at all clear.

I did download the images. I have used the VM interface to attach the images to the products in the cart.

If you'd like to take a look and see what I mean check out a product in my cart here.

If you click on the image you are taken to the manufacturers website and not shown the larger version of this image. The larger version is there in the DB but for some reason VM only wants to lead people away from my site. :(

I hope this clarifies my problem. Sorry about that.

I'm sorry but do you mean to say I should not be adding a Manufacturer link in the product setup pages?

Well that would be odd if that is what was doing it. Hmmmmmmmm

    • Well that was it. Thanks so much guys. That shows me for adding data in all the fields and not knowing the repercussions of such diligence. If only I had been lazier and left that field blank in the first place everything would have been fine.
