SOLVED How to restrict access to certain areas of website ?

One of my sites has around 1750 registered members.
I need to add some content that can only be accessed by 300 of those members.
Is there an easy way to do this using some 3rd party extension ?
I have thought about setting up a second Joomla implementation and copying the user ids of the 300 to the new CMS but I would prefer to keep it all in the same area if possible - Last Edit: 17 years 11 months ago by Steve Fletcher.

I've used this mambot quite a bit.

Put the tag at the beginning of the content you only want to show certain members of your site. In your case, you will have to copy and paste 300 usernames into the tag.
It works nicely.

Thanks both, I ended up using a combination of mambots.
The idea was to allow visitors to a convention to download the papers presented.
People who did not attend would have to buy the papers.
So I used RokGuest to say "you can buy or if you attended log in and download",
then RokMember was used with the MosIf inside to say either
"you will have to buy the papers"
or "you can download from here"
Works a treat !
